Player Story
Born and raised in Bendigo, the Victorian had her first taste of competitive cricket when she started playing for her state's under-14 girl's team. She later made it into Victoria's under-18 team as well.
Soon enough, WBBL came calling with the Renegades selecting her for the second edition of the league in 2016-17.
Despite having had a tough road undergoing two knee reconstructions, Vlaeminck's persistence was rewarded when the right-arm quick made her Australian debut in late 2018. She was also a part of the Australian side which won the 2018 T20 World Cup.
But injuries continued to plague the speedster, who was ruled out of the 2020 T20 World Cup with a serious foot injury and after making a brief return in 2021, the same injury then saw her miss the 2022 Ashes, ODI World Cup, Commonwealth Games and 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Another set-back, this time shoulder surgery, again sidelined Vlaeminck for the second half of 2023, but she made a long-awaited return to the Australia XI during the 2024 tour of Bangladesh.
Heartbreaking for Vlaeminck, her 2024 T20 World Cup ended just four deliveries into her first game of the tournament, when she suffered a serious shoulder injury while diving in the field, forcing another lay-off for the Victorian.
