The coaching staff for the Australia A tour of the UK has been revealed, led by a former England batsman
Harris, Voges to assist on A tour
Former Test players Adam Voges and Ryan Harris will serve as assistant coaches for the four-day component of Australia A's tour of England next month.
The pair, who boast vast playing experience in the UK at both Test and first-class level, will assist head coach Graeme Hick for the three-match campaign, which culminates in a selection showdown between Australia and Australia A at Southampton just a week out from the first Ashes Test in Birmingham.
Troy Cooley, former England bowling coach and Head Coach of the Bupa National Cricket Centre, is set to serve as team manager and provide his expertise of English conditions, while national selector Trevor Hohns will be on deck to monitor the Ashes aspirants.
Voges played all five Tests in Australia's 2-3 Ashes loss in England four years ago and spent more than a decade playing county cricket, concluding in 2017 at the end of a five-year stint with Middlesex.
The right-hander retired from all forms of cricket in February 2018 with a Test average of 61.87 and less than four months later was named as Western Australia's men's head coach following Justin Langer's appointment to the national team.
In his first season at the helm, the Warriors finished third in the JLT Sheffield Shield, semi-finalists in the JLT One-Day Cup and last with the Perth Scorchers in the KFC BBL.
Harris was Australia's best performer in the 2013 Ashes, capturing 24 wickets in four Tests as the tourists went down 0-3 to record their third-straight series loss on English soil.
Following his retirement on the eve of the 2015 series, the 39-year-old began his coaching career in Brisbane where he works under Cooley mentoring the next generation of Australian cricketers.
Australia A will face Sussex at Arundle Castle from July 7 before heading to Canterbury to take on the English Lions from July 14, the same day as the World Cup final at Lord's.
The third and final fixture pits Australia A against an Australian side, with the World Cup players in contention for an Ashes berth set to join the 'A' tour once their Cup campaign concludes.
The Ashes squad is set to be named at the conclusion of the Southampton fixture, which could be as late as July 27. The first Test at Edgbaston will commence on August 1.
Prior to the four-day matches, Australia A play five one-day fixtures, with Hick to act as head coach while Aaron Finch's side compete in the World Cup.
Assisting Hick for the five-match one-day leg are WACA assistant coach Kade Harvey and South Australia Redbacks high performance coach Shane McDermott.
Australia A depart for the UK next week ahead of their first 50-over match against Northamptonshire on June 20. The squad then travels to Derby (June 23), Worcester (June 25) and finish with two matches in Bristol against Gloucestershire (June 30 and July 2).
