The left-handed batter from Geelong has been a star on the rise ever since he burst onto the scene during the 2024 U19 World Cup, when he came into Australia's squad as a 17-year-old. 

A late arrival to South Africa as an injury replacement, Peake was brought straight into the playing XI and made an immediate impact with 25 not out against England in his first match, a crucial 49 against Pakistan in the semi-final and 46no against India in Australia's win in the final. 

Having impressed with a half-century on his Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria in 2024-25, he was invited to join Australia's Test squad for a taste of the top level in early 2025 on a Sri Lanka tour. He earned his first full contracts with Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades for the 2025-26 summer, and was drafted into the Australia A side. 

He made headlines by hitting a last-ball six to win a BBL match in Perth, then went directly from the stadium to the airport to return to the U19 World Cup – now in Namibia and Zimbabwe in early 2026 – this time as Australia's captain, emulating his father Clinton Peake, who had captained Australia U19s in 1994-95.

His first official call-up to a senior Australia side came in winter 2026 when he was named in the ODI side to play three matches in Pakistan, making his debut in the first match in Rawalpindi batting in the lower middle order.

At 19 years and 261 days he was officially Australia's youngest ever specialist batter to make his ODI debut, beating the record of Ricky Ponting (20 years and 58 days).
